A dream within a dream.

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
a dream within a dream

Abraham's daughter.

Abraham took Isaac's hand
and led him to the lonesome hill.
While his daughter hid and watched,
she dare not breathe. She was so still.
Just as an angel cried for the slaughter,
Abraham's daughter raised her voice.
Then the angel asked her what her name was,
she said "I have none".
Then he asked "how can this be?"
"my father never gave me one".
And when he saw her, raised for the slaughter,
Abraham's daughter raised her bow.
How darest you, child, defy your father?
you better let young Isaac go.

Himno a la belleza

¿Vienes del cielo profundo o surges del abismo,
Oh, Belleza? Tu mirada infernal y divina,

Tú contienes en tu mirada el ocaso y la aurora;
Tú esparces perfumes como una tarde tempestuosa;

El Destino encantado sigue tus faldas como un perro;

Tú marchas sobre muertos, Belleza, de los que te burlas;
